FAQs
When did you start taking photographs?
I’ve been taking photos since I was a small child - experimenting with my parents’ Canon film cameras. I always got super excited waiting for the film to be developed at our local chemist. The pictures didn’t always turn out great, but it was the process I enjoyed.
Do you have any qualifications in photography?
Yes, I studied Photography at Staffordshire University, and graduated in 2020 with a 2:1.
Why landscape/nature/travel photography?
I have always struggled with my communication skills, due to having Asperger’s, ADHD and Borderline Personality Disorder, and as such I have never really been good with people. Going out into the landscape and being alone has always been my preferred way. I don’t have to worry about my anxiety flaring up. It’s just me, my camera and my environment.
What gear do you use?
At the time of writing this, my current gear is as follows:
Camera: Canon EOS 5D Mark III
Lenses: Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM and Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM
What are your plans for the future?
I hope to build a strong portfolio of work to share on my website, and eventually start selling my prints. Looking longer-term, I like the idea of displaying some of my images in exhibitions and, if I can muster up the courage, maybe reach a point where I can present my work in front of an audience, share my experiences, and answer questions, etc.
